After a first, tentative slurp, he looked up at me with an expression on his face that seemed to say,
Do you mean to tell me that,
the whole time I've lived with you,
you've given me regular water,
when chicken-flavored water was available?
Are you nuts?
the whole time I've lived with you,
you've given me regular water,
when chicken-flavored water was available?
Are you nuts?
Scarf, scarf--it was gone in seconds. And it cleared up the (ahem) problem, too.

LOL. I love it.
When Smokey was a pup, we had six weeks of things being . . . messy until his beef allergy was diagnosed, and he lived on chicken breasts and rice most of the time. Now whenever I cook chicken, he lives in great hope.
that is too funny. Are you familiar with the photo book, "If Only You Knew How Much I Smell You"? It is the best. dog. book. ever. Some of the poetry sounds exactly like what you wrote. You would love it, I bet.
Awwwww.... water that tastes like chicken.
Poor guy. He will be in for a rude shock when health returns.
I LOVE this story. Too cute.
my dogs have been known to give that look once or twice too....glad he's feeling better...
